Two Men Use ATM Skimming Device To Steal $1K: Nutley PD

Two men are at large after they used a skimming device on an ATM in Nutley to steal $1,000 from a customer's account on Saturday, March 9, authorities said.

The skimming device was placed on an ATM at Proponent Bank on Washington Avenue on Thursday, Feb. 22, Nutley police said. The suspects removed the skimming device on Wednesday, Feb. 28, police said.

At 3:58 p.m. on March 9, the duo entered a branch on Bloomfield Avenue and withdrew over $1,000 using a customer's credit card information stolen from the Washington Avenue ATM.

Police said they are working with bank security and Secret Service to determine how many accounts have been compromised. A similar incident occurred in January at a Capital One, police said.
